With 20 years experience, Elizabeth brings the expertise, creativity and award-winning strategy of a big-time ad agency to small business. She worked solving marketing + PR needs at two well-known advertising agencies, Valentine Radford and Cramer ~ Krasselt. During her tenure at CK, she and the SRP team created a campaign that not only significantly increased consumer awareness but also won Best of Show at the Phoenix Addy Awards and a National Silver Addy. Elizabeth developed and honed her skills working on campaigns for such agency clients as Sprint, Salt River Project (SRP) and Bayer Corporation. Before co-founding Novella, as the principal of elle marketing communications she consulted with both b2b and business-to-consumer clients in industries ranging from home lending services and high-tech to non-profits and retail. She's successfully positioned small to mid-size businesses in the marketplace by developing brand strategies and executing marketing and media plans. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Journalism from Missouri State University. She is also an alumnus of Kansas City Tomorrow, a Kansas City civic leadership program. 

C L A R E   M C C L A R E N   Principal, Creative Director



Clare has 20 years of experience crafting design solutions for companies and organizations
large and small. Shortly after graduating with a BFA in Visual Communications from the University of Kansas, Clare went to work for Douglas Oliver Design Office in Santa Monica, CA, where she produced award-winning annual reports, corporate collateral and branding initiatives for clients such as Sony,
Art Center College of Design, Tejon Ranch and Mead Coated Papers. In 2001, she co-founded Brown McClaren Design, a multidisciplinary design firm in Pasadena, CA. Brown McClaren went on to receive some of the highest honors in the design industry, including Best of Show Typography and Top Ten Designed in the AR100. Prior to co-founding Novella, Clare’s studio luxedesign produced collateral, brand identity and new media for clients such as the Kansas Leadership Center, 41Penn and
The Barstow School. Clare's work has been recognized by many of the major design publications including: Print, Communication Arts, The Mohawk Show and the AIGA awards.

K E L L Y  K L I N K O N   Brand Strategist



With her expertise in the packaged goods, retail, restaurant and catering industries, Kelly serves our diverse client roster well. She brings over 10 years of major brand experience from category leaders like Clear Channel Entertainment, Lorillard Tobacco Company and Hallmark Cards, Inc. to Novella. Kelly manages brand and marketing programs for clients utilizing her varied skill set which includes: creating direct mail/ecampaigns to drive traffic to retail stores; planning and overseeing special​ events ranging in size from 20-500; in-store product merchandising and point-of-sale advertising; and assisting with the publicity and promotion of music events. Specifically, Kelly applies her knowledge to help retail clients meet sales objectives through retail execution, proper product placement and developing an effective marketing program. In 2001, Kelly earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.​​​

C E C I L Y  P I C K E R I N G    Social Media Strategist



Cecily brings a wide range of expertise including social media marketing, social business strategy, content creation and management, brand positioning and messaging, and creative thinking to her work at Novella. In 2013, she earned Sales Force’s Top Internet Marketer award and is well versed in the best applications to help automate posting and to generate quality content. In addition to social media, Cecily also specializes in web development and design, SEO, landing pages, and list generation. She has four years of experience in the social media industry, working with both national and local organizations. Cecily holds two degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City: one in Liberal Arts, and the other in Elementary Education.

M I R A N D A   L O G R A S S O    Intern



With a unique background in marketing, communications, development and event planning in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, Miranda looks forward to bringing her creativity, innovative perspective, hard-working nature, and determined personality to Novella as this year’s fall intern. A senior at Rockhurst University, she will graduate with two degrees, a BSBA with concentrations in both Marketing and International Business and a BA in Nonprofit Leadership Studies. After spending a summer taking courses in both art history and graphic design in Rome, Miranda discovered a passion for travel, design and naturally, Italian food! She has been inspired by these experiences to develop these interests into a viable skillset as she navigates her way through the world and the next chapter of her life upon graduation in the spring. 

J E S S E   M O L I N A    Jr. Designer



Jesse’s entire life has been dedicated to the study of art and design including lettering, graphic design, printmaking, and installation art. She received her B.F.A and B.G.S. at the University of Kansas studying expanded media and art history, as well as her time spent in the Johnson County Community College design program. Through her fine arts education she learned how to expand creative and conceptual boundaries. With her design training she found the master key to communicate her creative ideas. Her synthesis of fine arts and design has resulted in innovative layouts, color mastery, and a fresh approach to branding.
